Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

The Sanya Lake Park Super Market by NL Architects is a Green Oasis

— May 17, 2013 — Eco
The Sanya Lake Park Super Market rethinks the way traditional grocery stores work. It foregoes the stale box design for a lush green oasis. Layering the roof with tiers of refreshing gardens, shoppers are encouraged to make the trip to the grocery store less about checking off a mundane chore and more about living a healthy lifestyle.

Interestingly, the groceries in the Sanya Lake Park Super Market are actually set a storey underground. But since the first level boasts an exterior of glass rather than concrete or other opaque material, a ton of natural light is able to stream in. By placing it underground, designers NL Architects introduced a small pavilion as the entrance and additional retail.
