Swiss designers Kueng Caputo have created the 'Sand Chair' series, which features a seating collection of seven styles. The designer duo, made up of Lovis Caputo and Sarah Keung, have displayed their distinctive collection at Art Basel Miami Beach 2011.
Each unique object within the collection is made from a mixture combining sand and mortar. The brightly painted chairs are not only great furniture, but are also desirable art pieces. Layers of the mixture are poured in varying shapes and then further shaped and molded using a traditional hammer and chisel sculptural method.
The versatile furniture pieces can be used as accent pieces in interiors, bringing any space to life with their dynamic design and fearless display of colour. Moreover, this lovely seating can also be used outdoors, transforming any patio space into a design-lover's dream.
