Danish design studio Kvorning Design create the Salmon Eye, which is a floating exhibition pavilion and also a special aquaculture visitor center that is located in Norway's Hardangerfjord. The structure is made possible from the idea that stemmed from the local salmon farming company Eude Fjordbruk. The overall name and shape are inspired by the rounded shape of a salmon's eyes and it is made with 9.500 stainless steel plates that are made to cover the structure to create the look of scaly skin.
The design studio talks about the Salmon Eye, "The pattern and the dimensions of the plates create a perfect double-curved surface. This material, the dimensions, and the reflection of light from the plates look very much like salmon skin at a distance."
