Trader Joe’s Rutland Red Leicester Cheese is the newest addition to the brand's Spotlight Cheese lineup. The tasty new cheese is produced in the county of Leicestershire in the U.K. by expert cheesemakers who prepare each batch by hand-coating the blocks of cheese in butter, and then hand-wrapping them in cloth before maturing them. The result is a melt-in-your-mouth cheese with a mild, caramel-y flavor, and icredibly flaky texture. Finally, the cheese is given its striking red-orange hue from the addition of annato, the same natural dye that's used to give Cheddar its signature yellow shade.
