The Rua Polônia House in Brazil Boasts an Industrial Frontage

— June 6, 2025 — Art & Design
Local architects Gabriel Kogan and Guilherma Pianca work in collaboration with Clara Werneck on the Rua Polônia House in São Paulo. The home is defined by its concrete gridded framing that shows off views of a lush garden. The contrast of the street was met by the frontage and open concrete structure that has full-height glazing to overlook the gardens and provide airflow.

Gabriel Kogan and Guilherme Pianca speak about the design process and influence, "Tropical plants are framed by the building's geometry, turning the landscape into an almost inward projection. The house is designed as a sequence of framed views, emphasising frontality and depth, and minimising diagonals. There's also a strong intention to unify function, structure, and material finishes into a coherent architectural language."
