Many people have an inclination to become more eco, which could include converting your roof to become a giant solar panel.

Before you get too far ahead of yourself, it is always nice to know more about something first before finally getting into it. This is what RoofRay offers.

RoofRay is an application which performs a calculation or estimation of the power potential of your roof. It gives an approximation of how much you can save by utilizing the energy given off by the sun. In addition to those, it also tells the payback period. An image is shown in the program using Google map. From there, you will also get information like surface area and slope.

To use the program, you just have to enter your zip code or address and then mark the size of the solar array you want to have on your roof. Once you are done, the program will make its quick calculation.

Though RoofRay’s calculation may not be very accurate, it will still be able to help you decide whether installing solar panels on your roof is practical or not.
