Squash is a quintessential fall produce that often finds its way into roasted veggies, but it can also be used to make a variety of creamy meals such as this squash hummus dip. The dip is made from wholesome ingredients and is a great seasonal and healthy alternative to store bought dairy versions.
The dip contains cubed squash, garlic, lemon and chickpeas that is blended in a food processor to make the base. The squash's soft texture lends itself well to being pureed. Then to add fall flavor ingredients such as cinnamon, cumin, paprika and fresh parsley are added to the dip. The hummus can be served with sliced whole grain pitas or even roasted veggies such as carrots for dipping.
