Yanko Design Introduced The Innovative Ring Speaker Concept

Yanko Design showcased the ring speaker concept by designers Nicolas Fred and Thomas Fred, featuring magnetically integrated earbuds designed for on-demand personal audio. The device was imagined to be worn on the wrist or around the neck with a lanyard, providing a lightweight, portable speaker that can switch to private listening when the earbuds are detached.

The design emphasized a compact circular form with smooth surfaces and a balanced ring structure that keeps the earbuds securely attached via magnets while keeping them instantly accessible. Open acoustic elements and targeted sound outlets were proposed to let the speaker project outward for shared listening while preserving environmental awareness.

Blending communal and personal audio in one object, the concept aimed to reduce the need for separate accessories and reflect a broader move toward adaptable wearable tech experiences.
