This Mardis Gras March in New Orleans Happened in Rewind

This Mardi Gras, a historical moment took the French Quarter in New Orleans. Organized by New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation (NOTMC) and the local LGBTQ community, hundreds of volunteers came together for a unique performance that was the opposite of what we usually expect from a pride parade.

The participants put down their instruments, their colorful costumes, removed their makeup and marched backwards, "symbolizing that New Orleans will always move forward, and always be open and welcoming to everyone."

In the end, a twist with a message of hope: they will stay united and resist. After all, New Orleans is, and always will be, open-minded. The initiative supported by the city's tourism bureau speaks for itself.
