Low-Rise Residential Developments

Shay Cleary Architects Completes the Residences at Sanford Lodge

Architectural firm Shay Cleary Architects has completed the Residences at Sanford Lodge development in Dublin. The project finishes a residential complex that is defined by its low-rise build and dense structure. The homes are organized throughout a courtyard with a focus on sustainable urban housing structures. There are 26 residences in total and it is all arranged in a triangular site in two rows of terraces on both sides of the courtyard.

The studio director John Dobbin shares with Dezeen, "Building upon our long term research projects into high-quality, low-rise, high-density residential design, the scheme provides high amenity residential units of generous size, with ample private open terraces and gardens and superb access to sunlight and daylight with double aspect units throughout. This form of housing provides densities comparable to apartment development, but does so through own-door homes, garden courtyards, and generous terraces, deliverable in a more economical, viable format."
