Dark Roast Rye Whiskeys

Hard Truth Distilling Co. Debuts Master Distiller's Reserve Dark Roast Rye

Hard Truth Distilling Co., a nationally recognized whiskey destination based in Brown County, Indiana, has announced the upcoming release of its Master Distiller's Reserve Dark Roast Rye. This bottled-in-bond whiskey combines two of the distillery's award-winning mash bills, the Chocolate Malt Rye and Caramel Malt Rye, in a 50-50 blend to create a complex, dark, and malty expression.

The Master Distiller's Reserve Dark Roast Rye scheduled for September and featured at the distillery's Harvest Festival, utilizes roasted malts traditionally found in the beer world, which have been carefully crafted to impart deep flavors of butterscotch, Swiss chocolate, vanilla custard, and dark roast coffee. The finish includes notes of fudge brownie, brûléed sugar, peach nectar, and cracked black pepper. The bottled-in-bond designation ensures the whiskey is the product of a single distilling season from one distillery, aged for at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof.
