Within her 'Remember me' photos, Tuva Kleven explores the Island Crete and photographs some of the most beautiful shrines. Kleven says that: "All of these little chapels symbolize someone's pains, hopes or the end of a life."
The photographs are magical, as the effort put into the making of these shrines is apparent; where people are emotionally invested in their creations. Some of the shrines are not as noticeable as others, where they are left for someone to discover. Many of the sculptures are of churches or small houses, built onto stands within the environment.
With a tropical atmosphere and the bright colors of the shrines, the photographs are wonderful and telling of Greek culture. The 'Remember me' photos allow viewers to see the shrines and to find beauty in them. Although the true artist is unknown, you can still sympathize with their pain and emotional struggles by appreciating their work.
