Zara is Replacing Single-Use Gift Cards with Keychains

Brands are making efforts to reduce the need for single-use plastics where possible and fashion retail chain Zara is an example of this, as it recently introduced reloadable contactless keychains. These keychains can be used in place of the retailer's existing plastic gift cards.

"Last year alone, 28.8 million adults in the UK received a gift card," reports CEO of supplier MultiPay Global Solutions David Maisey, "Importantly, they are especially popular with Gen Z and millennial shoppers, with 46% and 42%, respectively, purchasing at least one gift card in the three years leading up to 2022."

These NFC-powered keychains enhance the customer experience and reduce the need for single-use plastic, all the while offering a fashionable way for consumers to sport their personal style.
