Turning trash into fashion is a great concept and it takes an interesting twist here - Artist, Cathy Casdan decided to knit a 1950's inspired ensemble entirely out of old plastic bags.

Implications - The inspiration behind this meticulously hand-knitted dress came from Casdan's large collection of bags as a result of grocery shopping. Once she decided to go forward with the project, she told people that she'll take the bags off their hands and the response was overwhelmingly positive with thousands offering their help. The dress has a white top with a red belt complete with a blue bottom. It's kind of got a Zooey Deschanel fashion vibe to it, which isn't a bad thing at all.

This great concept will be featured in an upcoming Recycled Art Show along with other similar art pieces from a variety of artists.
