National Ice Cream Day is happening on Sunday and to celebrate people can try their hand at this rainbow ice cream cake. For those who will actually be celebrating a birthday this weekend, there is even more reason to attempt it. Not one's average Dairy Queen confection, it looks like a mix between that and the popular rainbow tie-dye surprise cake that took the Internet by storm last month.
Although it looks slightly complicated to make, the rainbow ice cream cake is a simple recipe that requires nothing more than two pans, spoons, cake, whip cream and a ton of multi-colored ice cream. Once the ice cream is layered and sufficiently frozen, it is placed between the cake and covered with whip cream and sprinkles.
