Meghan Young — June 19, 2012 — Art & Design
There is a reason why the common milk crate has become a staple in many budget households, not to mention style-minded ones as well, they are inexpensive, multipurpose and stackable; the Quirky Crates embody these qualities and more. As the modern version of the milk crate, the Quirky Crates not only boast a facelift, but also come with accessories including shelves, drawers, connectors, wheels, legs and more.
The Quirky Crates were conceived by Atlanta-based industrial designer Jenny Drinkard, who was most recently an industrial design student. The first United States product produced by Quirky, the overall mold comes from a toolmaker in New Jersey while the final production takes place in Vermont.
Launching on July 1, 2012, the Quirky Crates will be sold in Target stores.
