Niantic Made Use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR2 Platform

Niantic has unveiled a new augmented reality (AR) headset that's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR2 platform and promises to deliver an immersive gameplay experience like nothing we've seen before. The headset is equipped with a multi-chip architecture, which includes an AR processor, an AR co-processor and a connectivity platform to easily handle all the needs of games. The headset would immerse players in the gameplay, while also enabling them to maintain their safety and even utilize the surrounding landscape as the playing field.

Niantic Head of AR Headsets Maryam Sabour spoke on the headset saying, "The reference design will continue to evolve, and we are excited about the new AR2 platform that delivers ground-breaking technology to enable headset manufactures to quickly and more efficiently build sleek, commercial products based on our vision for consumers."
