What's the next generation chronograph beyond analog and digital timekeepers? The projection wall clock is! Many of the features that we've come to associate with timepieces are missing from this design, because technology has made them irrelevant here. You'll notice that there is no conventional base, no face and no recognizable dial. What you will see is a hi-tech peg that fixes directly to your drywall, wood or tile.
AliReza Asadi's Pin Clock is essentially a single post with revolving sections along its length. Installed perpendicular to the wall, the cutting-edge device holds batteries, an adjustable slider, and three rotating spotlights that trace the time in a circle around it. Illuminated projections of the numbers 0 to 9 are cast in positions at angles that correspond to typical watches and clocks. Anytime, it's easy to switch off the hour, minute and second 'hands' to leave a largely blank wall.
