Bold-Tonal Organic Furniture Series

Shim Seungyeon Designs the Pressura Stool and Table

Seoul-based designer Shim Seungyeon creates a range of dynamic furniture designs in the form of the Pressura Stool and Table. It embodies a bold design with organic structures -- it also has a solid palette but ironically delivers a soft aesthetic.

It is made by pressing together hollow metal pipes which is notably a technique that is often used by metalworkers to create structures. The pipes make up the stool and table with a large diameter purposefully done to add a visual effect and durability. The compressed structures also form the connection points that hold the legs to the seat plate and connect them to the upper frame section of the table. The hues include cream, silver, navy, pistachio, red-brown, and yellow.
