This pregnant women initiative aims to save the lives of expecting mothers around the world with a $30 pink phone. Zero Mothers Die is a philanthropic project dedicated to getting rid of maternal and infant mortality rates with mobile solutions. The global mobile health campaign is a collaborative effort with AIDS-fighting organization UNAIDS and smartphone network Bharti Airtel.
The pregnant women initiative hopes to reduce fatalities by spreading information via mobile phones. Zero Mothers Die is partly a mobile messaging service that delivers information in local languages through voice messages. Mum's Phones -- unique mobile phones in a distinctive pink hue -- are given to the most vulnerable. Free airtime packages, capacity-building education, money-saving schemes and solar power chargers are also components of this project.
