Textured Tile Capsules

REPUBLIC OF II BY IV & Portuguese Ceramic Manufacturer VIÚVA LAMEGO Partner

The international design studio REPUBLIC OF II BY IV and the historic Portuguese ceramic manufacturer VIÚVA LAMEGO have joined forces to produce two new tile collections — Colinas and Marola. It is evident that the partnership merges the manufacturer's longstanding, traditional craftsmanship in handmade tiles with the design studio's contemporary, sculptural approach to product design.

The Colinas collection is characterized by a textured surface that mimics the layered appearance of pleated fabric or gentle hills. It is available in multiple sizes to allow for varied architectural applications. In contrast, the Marola collection features asymmetrical, wave-like grooves intended to create a rippling visual effect across a surface. Both product lines are fabricated from porcelain using artisanal methods and are offered in a curated selection of colors.
