Hallmark's Plush Dave Bowman Celebrates 2001: A Space Odyseey

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic science-fiction film 2001: A Space Odyseey, Hallmark is releasing a range of products including an adorable plush Dave Bowman. Unlike other space operas like Star Trek and Star Wars, 2001 does not quite lend itself to the action figure, playset and figurine market. This is partly what makes Hallmark's offering so unique as the retail chain has managed to put together a plush collectible that is incredibly iconic.

Hallmark claims that its pint-sized plush Dave Bowman will be part of a limited edition run, but the company has yet to indicate how many toys will be produced. The plush collectible features the classic Discovery One red spacesuit from the film and somehow undercuts the tense nature of the film by showing the character with a huge smile. The plush Dave Bowman is part of Hallmark's itty bittys collection and is available in Hallmark stores or online.
