Spotify Launches Playlist in a Bottle to Open at a Later Time

Spotify launches its new Playlist in a Bottle feature that allows users to capture who they are in a digital time capsule through music. It is meant to be opened in 2024, following the Spotify Wrapped summary that happens annually. The playlist is to capture what users are listening to currently, allowing them to visit this once again one year later as a new version of themselves.

This is to collect audio memories, selecting the time capsule design that best represents each user. The designs include the options of a bottle, a gumball machine, a lunch box, a teddy bear, or a jean pocket. After this, users are met with song prompts including “a song you’re going to kiss someone to this year” and “a song that reminds you of your favorite person.”
