Google has expanded its Pixel Personal Safety app beyond its latest phone models, and has included a number of new features that help to improve it.
While the app was originally released for Pixel 4 models, it is now available to all Pixel devices. Through the app, users can include personal emergency information that will show up on their lock screen, making it accessible to emergency services in the event that the user is not able to communicate with them. This can include their emergency contacts, allergies, the medications they take, and their blood type. To ensure the information is displayed when the phone screen is locked, users will have to go into their app settings and select 'Show When Locked'
Pixel 3 and 4 models also allow for emergency car crash detection, which will call emergency services automatically and share the user's location if they device detects that they have been in a severe accident.
