Finally catching up with the times, The EverReady Records campaign is set to release its new CD through a pill-shaped USB drive.
The idea behind the campaign is that CDs are dwindling pretty quickly, so EveryReady Records decided to use pill-shaped USB drives to release their band's LP. The first band to test out the pill-shaped USBs was Rollin Rockers with their new CD 'Bang! Bang!' Pretty smart marketing campaign, if you ask me.
Implications - Physical storage devices like VHS tapes, mini-discs and DVDs are being quickly replaced by virtual drives and USB storage devices. As society moves away from uniform devices, the opportunity for customization genuinely emerges. Since the entire population by and large has use for USB devices, companies that offer charming or otherwise customizable drives will capture a huge demographic of computer users.
