Salavat Fidai's Writing Tool Sculptures are Intricately Crafted
Jana Pijak — March 12, 2015 — Art & Design
You may have seen your share of crayon sculptures in the past but these pencil carvings are something all-together different. The intricate masterpieces are conceived by Russian artist Salavat Fidai and are inspired by pop culture themes. Whether depicting the Academy Awards Oscar sculpture or Batman and Darth Vader, Salavat proves that accuracy is his strong suit.
Despite of working at a small scale, the artist creates incredibly detailed versions of pop culture characters and objects like guns, padlocks and even miniature keys. He has even gone as far as to create realistic skulls that are ultra life-like, though microscopic.
His three-dimensional pencil carvings are as detailed as illustrated portraits band will inspire one to try their hand at an art project the next time they write with a traditional pencil tool.
