The Pavo lamp uses a folding panel system to create a dynamic illuminated form that expands and contracts around a central light source. The lamp consists of multiple hinged segments that open outward when activated, producing a display inspired by the spread of a peacock’s tail. When switched off the segments fold inward to form a compact closed shape. Illumination comes from an LED ring housed in the core, and the panels are designed to reflect and diffuse the light to alter brightness and visual pattern. Power is supplied through a USB-C connection, and a touch control on the base adjusts lighting modes.
The panels are produced from lightweight thermoplastic with a translucent surface that softens the emitted light. The internal mechanism moves at a steady rate during both opening and closing sequences. The base contains the driver electronics and is weighted for stability on flat surfaces. The lamp functions as an ambient lighting piece with a mechanical unfolding feature.
