The Alherd collection of lamps brings 3D-printed coral textures to ambient light through a generative design process inspired by natural reef forms. The porous, cellular surfaces are printed from recyclable plastic and house internal LED tubes that gently illuminate the structure. The glow diffuses through the organic geometry to produce a soft, halo-like light rather than a harsh beam, casting a sculptural presence even when switched off.
YET FAB offers the collection in multiple formats: table lamp, pendant, and large floor-standing versions. allowing the same coral-inspired aesthetic to adapt to different spaces. The material and process combine sustainability and visual complexity to reimagine lighting as an evolving form rather than a static utility. Alherd shows how computational design and 3D printing can turn waste materials and algorithmic growth patterns into emotionally rich, functional decor.
