Trader Joe's is making it easier to enjoy the delicious taste of passion fruit on-demand with its new Passion Fruit Rounds.
To create its new Passion Fruit Rounds, Trader Joe's worked with a supplier in Vietnam that specializes in all things dried fruit. The supplier starts by taking passion fruit seeds, along with the tart tropical pulp of the fruit, and combines this with a bit of apple juice and sugar to create a deliciously sweet mixture. The whole thing is then poured into disc-shaped molds and dehydrated until it forms tiny, bite-sized chews. As Trader Joe's puts it, "Together, the combo of sweet and sour, chewy and crunchy (courtesy of the generously-studded seeds throughout) create a harmonious balance that’s as unique as the passion fruit itself is."
