Papirmasse art subscription delivers an art print of varying sizes to people’s mailbox every month. The inventive project showcases over 40 artists and writers every year featuring the art on the front of the print with contemporary writing on the back.
Kirsten McCrea, the Montreal-based artist and the creator of this movement, recognized the disproportion of the number of art appreciators and the number of those who can afford to buy original works of it. As a response to this observation, and a reaction towards the dreary commercial reproductions of work, Papirmasse was created. For 5$ a month, you let your mailbox surprise you with a nice gift -- original works created by contemporary artists whom also you then formally support. Mr. Warhol would approve.
