Global Warming Trickery

Peruvian Experiment is Painting Mountains White to Slow Glacial Melting

Peruvian inventor Eduardo Gold came up with the idea that painting mountains white could reflect the sun’s rays and help to preserve Peru’s glaciers. Peru has 70% of the world’s tropical glaciers.

Gold was the winner of a “100 Ideas to Save the Planet” competition and received $200,000 to fund his idea. While the egg whites and lime paint may help to slow glacial melt, it isn’t a cure for global warming. Advocates say painting mountains white may help to buy time while long-term solutions are worked out.
