Digital Game Platform Expansions

Blizzard Announces that it is Launching Overwatch 2 on Steam

Blizzard is announcing that it will be launching a series of its PC games to Steam for the first time ever including Overwatch 2. The transition kicks off on August 10th for the game and as noted in a press release, the president of Blizzard, Mike Ybarra states “We’ve heard players want the choice of Steam for a selection of our games.”

This means that although the game will be accessible on Steam, fans will still need to have a Battle.net account to play the game as well as access to additional features. In addition to the new transition, Overwatch 2 will also be getting a big update as players can participate in PvE missions, expect a new hero, and have a new PvP mode.
