Overwatch 2 Partnered with Persona 5 on New Event

Season 18 of Overwatch 2 is set to launch on August 26, 2025, bringing new content such as updates to the Stadium mode, the introduction of a support hero named Wuyang, several new maps and modes, and a suite of fresh cosmetics. In the official Season 18 teaser, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that Persona 5 will be the next franchise to crossover into the Hero Shooter, marking yet another anime-themed collaboration for the title. While no specifics have been revealed, Blizzard’s brief trailer gesture indicates that Persona 5–inspired content will arrive alongside the season update.

Overwatch 2 has a track record of crossovers with popular anime and gaming properties, including One Punch Man, My Hero Academia, Cowboy Bebop and Street Fighter. In keeping with past events, the Persona 5 collaboration is expected to feature purchasable themed skins—likely centred on Joker and the Phantom Thieves—though details on pricing and additional in-game items have not been announced. The crossover continues Blizzard’s strategy of leveraging high-profile IP partnerships to expand cosmetic offerings and engage both existing players and fans of partner franchises.
