Our Next Energy (ONE) is beginning to develop an automotive battery system capable of delivering an impressive 600 miles of range. Created to help combat range anxiety in EV drivers, the innovative approach proposed by ONE's founder and CEO, Mujeeb Ijaz, is straightforward: integrate two batteries within the Gemini system instead of one.

The primary battery leverages burgeoning lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry to provide approximately 150 miles of range for everyday use. The strategic utilization of low-cost iron, which is abundantly available in the United States, serves as a compelling alternative to lithium, which is currently facing a shortage in the U.S.

Furthermore, the secondary battery acts as a range extender, contributing an additional 450 miles before the EV's energy source is depleted. This aspect of the Gemini system comes into play during "edge cases," ensuring that vehicles can travel extended distances without succumbing to range limitations.
