Celestial Sculptural Art

The Orbit Collection by Tina Frey Interprets Cosmic Movement in Bronze

The Orbit Collection by Tina Frey is a series of sculptural furniture pieces cast in bronze that debuted at Design Miami as part of the fair’s Contemporary 2.0 exhibit. The collection builds on earlier resin iterations and explores themes of celestial motion, balance, and interconnectedness through flowing, organic forms that reflect light and shadow across curved surfaces.

Each piece begins as a hand-sculpted clay model before being cast and polished to preserve subtle textural details, resulting in objects that merge tactile presence with visual depth. The bronze Orbit works include a small table and larger chair-like forms that function as both furniture and art, with reflective planes echoing the night sky’s expanses. Visitors navigated around the pieces at the show, where mirrored surfaces created moments of literal and visual reflection.
