Amazon Will Sell Online Movie Tickets in India on Its Website and App

Amazon will now sell online movie tickets in Indian markets and consumers will be able to purchase tickets on the Amazon website and the Amazon app. The new venture is the result of Amazon’s partnership with the movie ticket company, BookMyShow. The partnership will span five years, however many of the agreement's details were not released.

The company was previously selling flight tickets on its platform in India, so the move to online movie tickets makes sense for the organization. Amazon is attempting to build its Amazon Pay service into a popular service for consumers to purchase tickets.

Amazon's expansion into online movie tickets for India could result in the company offering similar services in different industries.
