'Kill Your Darlings' Exposes the Ugliness of Online Death Threats

— April 9, 2013 — Art & Design
Internet-safety campaigns have gotten people to act out against virtual bullying and online death threats, but what most people don't know, or don't want to know, is that innocent-seeming teenage girls are behind some of the cruelest social media messages out there.

'Kill Your Darlings' by Hello You Creatives is a tech installation that showcases some of the meanest and most hateful tweets in comparison to the sweet and fun-loving pictures of the teenage girls who sent them. Humorously enough, one of the messages that this heart-shaped artwork imparts is that no matter how careful girls are about posting flattering images online, all of that is turned into ugliness with a single hurtful message.

This installation project exposes shocking culprits of some horrible online death threats.
