On-Device AI Smartphones

Google Pixel 11 Runs Gemini AI Faster with Tensor G6

On-device AI smartphones are becoming more capable as Google introduces the Pixel 11 series with its new Tensor G6 processor. Paired with the latest Gemini Nano model, the chip provides 50% more TPU compute and processes on-device AI tasks up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy. The added processing power supports personalized Gemini features alongside upgraded photography, including faster Night Sight and enhanced zoom capabilities. Google has also integrated Tensor G6 with its Titan M3 security chip to strengthen device protection.

From a business perspective, faster and more efficient local AI processing can help Google differentiate Pixel devices as smartphone makers compete around intelligent features. Processing more tasks directly on devices can also improve responsiveness, privacy, and energy efficiency. By connecting custom chips, Gemini models, cameras, and security, Google is building a tightly integrated ecosystem that can encourage premium device upgrades and strengthen customer loyalty.
