Readers may remember Lithuanian travel firm The Olialia's proposed plan to open a special island in Maldives that's exclusive to blondes. The project has since been halted by the Maldivian government, as the Olialia resort's planned blonde-only hiring policy goes against Maldivian employment law.
The firm assured the government that non-blondes would be employed -- wearing blonde wigs, that is. The Maldivian government has not yet granted permission, so we'll have to wait to see whether the Olialia resort will become a reality.
