It looks like older staff is a key ingredient to the success of entrepreneur Kim Diaz's bar-restaurant, which is located in Spain. When hiring for positions -- be that for serving, cooking, hosting, and so on, Kim favors workers aged 50 and above.
This does not only point to the fact that many boomers and seniors are still active within the job market, preferring a steady workflow to retirement, but it also is an experiment to the work ethic of older staff. In Kim Diaz's case, it seems the hiring strategy has paid off. A boomer himself, the 51-year-old draws the conclusion that "older staff are punctual, polite and hardworking," not to mention that "their professionalism has proven a hit with younger customers."
For his bar-restaurant, the average employee age is 54.
