Functional Illuminated Bricks

Omar Gandhi Architects Creates the OG Brick Light for Various Uses

Canadian design studio Omar Gandhi Architects creates a series of unique lighting designs with a spotlight on the OG Brick Light. It is a brick-shaped illuminating product that can be built into masonry walls seamlessly. Notably, it is versatile as it can be used for indoor or outdoor spaces. This was showcased at an installation in Toronto, Canada seen alongside the tube chandelier dubbed 18 Ga.

The OG Brick Light is blended into the wall when built-in to emit a warm glow at night. It is encased in a metal frame and has a mesh material at the surface for the light to shine through. The installation truly captured the essence and capabilities of the lights. Gandhi notes, "The installation did a good job of showcasing both products in a muted manner, interwoven in both landscape and the urban fabric. It wasn't a gallery-type scenario, but rather a glimpse or a snapshot of a more realistic scenario. The landscape features helped to pull the fixtures back from the foreground to help create a scene."
