The Belden Brick Company Designs the Luminescent Bricks

American brick manufacturer The Belden Brick Company has created the Luminescent bricks. It is a series of decorative bricks with a glazed finish designed to shift its visual appearance as the day progresses depending on the daylight.

Belden explained, "Architects in regions with distinctive lighting conditions are particularly interested in materials that enhance facades through changing daylight. Luminescent, which is part of our Clay Coated range, creates visual depth that transforms with the sun's movement."

The product is meant for use in interior and external spaces as the Luminescent bricks reflect at the surface in an iridescent finish -- it appears to change with natural light throughout the light. The product is an alternative to traditional glazed bricks.
