This octagonal outdoor fire pit has been designed as part of a renovation project for a dwelling on Orcas Island in Washington State to help offer inhabitant uninterrupted views of the surrounding ocean. Designed by Heliotrope Architects, the fire pit is built into the hillside with a concrete frame that is accented by a series of wooden benches in a geometric design. The fire pit allows ample visitors to sit around the fire, while also not interrupting views from the main house to boot.
The octagonal outdoor fire pit accommodates the surrounding landscape in order to work with the land instead of against it to create a sense of harmony on the tranquil remote property.
