Looking at a fully assembled Nomadic Chair, would you have ever guessed that it would fall into the category of portable perches? It has an apparently solid structure and many timber components, so it really is a wonder that it can be completely collapsed.
This project by Jorge Penadés is an exploration of temporary furniture, uniting the modern interests in portability and sturdiness of structure. Many pieces of solid ash wood have been put together with straps and powder-coated steel for a flat seat, a slanted backrest and four stable legs. In just two minutes' time, you can take apart the Nomadic Chair, bind it up to the dimensions of a backpack and carry it with you to wherever you'd like to sit.
