Female-Promoting Design Platforms

No Sir Hopes to Level the Playing Field for Women Designers

It's no secret that to this day, women are still making significantly less then their male counterparts and No Sir is a platform that hopes to level the playing field - at least for female designers. Founded by Terese Alstin, who is based in Malmö, Sweden, No Sir is essentially an e-commerce platform dedicated to promoting the work of these designers.

No Sir helps to expose women's work -- both emerging and established. Everything from jewelry and furniture to housewares and textiles are featured throughout. Terese Alstin curates the pieces herself. Interestingly, she addresses the competitive nature of women as well, "In a male-dominated industry, it’s common that women isolate themselves from each other and become competitive. They fight each other because the career opportunities for women are so rare." But through No Sir, that doesn't have to be the case.
