The Nissan manufacturing plant in Sunderland in the UK is being reinvented and reinvigorated to make it far more eco-friendly and sustainable thanks to the installation of an innovative solar farm.
This factory's solar farm is made up of 19,000 photovoltaic panels that will be capable of supplying a healthy 4.75 megawatts of power to complement the 6.6 megawatts already being generated by the plant's wind turbines.
While much of the dialogue about environmental sensitivity and sustainability revolves around vehicles themselves, it's important to note that the places where vehicles are manufactured often cause lots of pollution themselves. This Nissan manufacturing plant is a welcome innovation that will help promote a whole new degree of sustainability in the automotive world.
