Self-Lacing Sneakers

Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 Brings 'Back to the Future' Tech to Life in Sleek Way

Self-lacing technology is here thanks to the Nike Hyperadapt 1.0. Although it's not as obvious as what was envisioned in "Back to the Future," people will appreciate the application on a sleeker silhouette and a more subtle platform. Essentially, for the Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 shoe to "lace" all a person need to do is slip it on and as soon as their heel hits the sole, it triggers a sensor that tightens the laces.

Tiffany Beers, Senior Innovator, NIKE, Inc., and the project’s technical lead, explains further, “Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.” Perfect to make swift micro-adjustments while on the go, the Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 is more than a gimmick, it's extremely practical.
