These E-Scooters Use an Urban Network of Charging Stations

Taiwanese company Kwang Yang Motor Co. Ltd., better known as KYMCO, is launching an innovative new electric scooter that is designed to make it easier than ever for riders to charge their vehicles and access related services such as battery exchange.

Dubbed the Ionex, this particular electric scooter was unveiled over at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, where it captured a lot of attention due to the fact that the vehicle itself is designed to be used in conjunction with a proprietary Power Outlet Network that riders can visit to charge their batteries.

However, what makes the KYMCO charging stations different from those offered by competitors is that it can also be used by non-KYMCO electric motorbikes, something which could prove to be a welcome additional revenue stream for the company.
