Air Filtration Firefighter Equipment

One of the biggest dangers for firefighters can be smoke inhalation which is mitigated with the use of oxygen tanks, but the conceptual 'NanoGen' breathing device is intended to offer a lightweight alternative. Weighing in at 15 kilograms, the system is capable of filtering the air for the wearer using Nano Fiber PAN technology for up to 30 minutes at a time. The lighter weight design will eliminate the need for existing heavy equipment and also works to keep the face of the firefighter visible to help offer a friendlier experience for victims being rescued.

The conceptual 'NanoGen' breathing device is the design work of Ashrutha Alagani and Jaya Vikash, and could drastically enhance the capabilities of firefighters both today and tomorrow.
