At the risk of making Trend Hunting look easy (it's not) I simply stumbled across the site of a photographer known as Mr Means and was totally struck by the style of his work and the portraits in his portfolio.
The expression on per- haired Brian is perfect to a tee, as is some man named Chris who was photographed in a bath tub.
One of the reasons I think these photographs are so strong is they don't automatically strike you as portraits due to the detail and set up in each image.
